Whether you're new to the BGFR, or transitioning your site from the old Ring, we've made joining the Big Game Fishing Ring as easy as 1-2-3 ...
1. Fill out the form
Use the form below or on the Ring homepage to tell us about your site. Here's what we need to know:
- Site Title - the name of your site.
- Site URL - the web address of your site.
- Site Owner - the name of the owner of the site or, if managed by someone else, the contact for the site.
- Email Address - the preferred email address for the owner or contact.
- Year of Birth - this is to insure no one under 13 attempts to join the Ring (required by law).
- Password - a series of characters selected by you to access the information about your site on the Ring. You'll need this later if you ever need to change any of the information you submit.
- Keywords - Four or five search words to index your site for our search engines.
- Site Description - A couple of sentances to describe your site to visitors. This will be included in the Ring Directory.
Once you complete the form, hit the "Submit" button.
2. Check your email for the Ring Code
An email message will be waiting for you at the address you gave in step #1. In that message will be a copy of the information you provided to us, along with the BGFR Ring Code, already customized for your web site. You should archive this email message for future reference.
3. Add the Ring Code to your web site
Using copy-and-paste, copy the Ring Code exactly as it appears in the email message. You should start at the line that includes "Begin Big Game Fishing Ring Code" and end with the one with "End Big Game Fishing Ring Code". Paste the code directly into the HTML page at the address you gave in Step 1. If you already have an old version of the Ring Code from the earlier Ring, replace it with the new code.
When you're done, it should look like this:

Powered by RingSurf! If yours doesn't look like this, or you have any other trouble installing the code, email the Ringmaster who will be happy to help you.
Of course, if someone else manages your site for you, simply forward the email message with the code to them and they will take care of the installation for you.
That's it - you're done!
Special Note for sites migrating from the old Ring: Once you have been accepted into the new Ring, you will be deactivated from the old Y! WebRing. When that happens you will probably receive an email with the dire warning "You have been deleted from the Big Game Fishing Ring" or something similiar. Don't panic - you're still a part of the new Ring, which is the only one that counts!
